New Pit Conveys Solar Salt Into Our Largest Dome

Happy to Announce

After several years of planning, we unloaded our first rail car into a new pit that conveys our Solar Salt into the largest dome at our plant. It is gratifying to see this lengthy and capital intensive project come to its completion.

The project would not have been successful without our Gunther Salt team, which includes our Plant Manager, Warehouse Manager, Maintenance Management team, and all our employees who work in our plant.

Project Results

Gunther Salt Company will be able to double the amount of Solar Salt we unload per day with the addition of the pit and conveyance system.

The new pit and conveyance system will allow us to unload rail cars safely and efficiently. We unloaded our first car today in 36 minutes.

By investing in this pit and conveyance system, we will be able to service our loyal and valued customer base, and the entire Midwest market, with more Solar Salt than ever before.

Coming Soon

This fall, we will also be installing a new packaging line, which will double our capacity to produce packaged water softening salt for our customer base and entire market.

These capital improvements will provide a direct benefit to our customers and for those that will be buying from us for the first time in 2023.

We are proud and honored to service our region with the highest quality salt products since 1902 - 121 years in business and counting!
